Alicante has some of the most spectacular beaches of Europe. The beaches run parallel to tall mountains and in the midst of this beautiful nature is the city Alicante. The beaches are clean and they have all the facilities like water sports, boating, fishing, underwater excursions etc. Most of the beaches here receive tourist almost throughout the year. Some of the popular beaches of Alicante are introduced here:

El Postiguet beach:

Just a few minutes’ walk from the city, El Postiguet beach is surrounded by beautiful palm trees. It is said that this beach was a secondary entrance point to the city. Being close to the city, some city dwellers also visit the beach to spend the night during the summer period. The beach is very well connected by railway also. The Postiguet harbor is very close by to the beach.

El Saladar Beach:

This is one of the most beautiful beaches of Europe. This long beach is perfectly maintained that ‘public health’ is the watch word here. There is a long path for walking and cycling. There are many beautiful dunes. The shops sell the traditional works of Alicante as well as many other products which are of importance to the tourists. There are plenty of houses which border the beach. It has enough places to park the cars and other vehicles. Water sports and many other beach sports like volleyball etc can be played here. The beach is about five kilometers from the city and it is also popularly called as ‘Playa de Urbanova’.

San Juan Beach:

This is yet another beautiful beach Alicanta. San Juan beach is also a very busy beach because many visitors make it a point to visit this beach. Located at a distance of about 7 kilometers from the city, the beach is full of hotels and service apartments where the tourist can enjoy a quiet and comfortable holiday. In spite of being a busy beach with so many visitors coming, the place is so clean and one does not find any littering on the golden sand of the beach.

That is the reason why the beach has been crowned with the ‘Blue Flag Award’. San Juan beach is very well connected by road and railways. There is a golf course, a tennis court and enough water sports facilities to keep the tourists busy throughout out the year. Those who have fascination for shopping find San Juan is the most ideal place for shopping.
